Hi I am Missi one of the owners of Cedar River Chins. The other four owners are my daughters Ashlei, Tiffani, Maggi and Taylor. We recently cut our herd down to 15 breeding pair. We have been breeding chinchillas for years now. We have purchased our breeding lines from some of the best breeders in the country and continued to improve on them and grow. Although my 2 sons Zac and P.J have not taken an interest in breeding chins they are a big help to me. They help with chores while I am away at shows and lugging supplies in and out of the house for me. Maybe one day they will want to be a part of the showing and breeding end of it.
We are proud members of the MCBA as well as the CBO and ECBC. We travel all around the US attending shows and seminars to increase our knowledge and help us grow as breeders.
We are totally obsessed with these cute little fur balls. But above all they are our pets, the babies they have are just an added bonus for us. All of our offspring are hand held and pampered from birth ensuring they are well social before they go to their new home. We have spent countless hours learning everything there is to know about chinchillas. We breed not only for temperment but also for color and size and qualtiy of fur. So whether you are looking for a pampered pet or a herd improvement mutation or standard we can help.
We currently can produce ALL of the mutation colors as well as standards. Which are important to any breeding program.
We would like to thank Jan and Rich Ryerson. Not only did they teach us all we know (that a book could not of covered) but they also became a big part of our lives.
